Overview

Ballantree is an established neighborhood begun in the early 1970's. The homes in Ballantree reflect a wide variety of styles which include single story ranch, split foyer, more traditional two story, and a few contemporary designs. The variety of exterior finishing materials and colors add to the diverse look of Ballantree. Many of the ranch styles utilized "classic" brick, with a number of the other home exteriors/front elevations are finished in wood, stucco, and/or stone.

A number of the lots are sloping thus allowing homes to offer partial or full basements. Lot sizes vary from about .3 acres up to an acre. Because of its age, many of the lots in Ballantree include mature trees and shrubbery thus adding to the community's finished look. Some lots in the higher elevations of Ballantree offer very scenic views of the valley and distant mountains to the west.

Ballantree is in Asheville at the edge of city limits 6 miles southeast of downtown Asheville. It is about 2 miles south of the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 3.5 miles south of I-40. Buncombe County schools (El, MS, HS) are within a 3 mile radius along with eateries, and retail services.
